Our Client is labouring under considerable difficulties owing to certain obligations towards his manufacturers, and this disadvantage is considerably accentuated through the stringency of money in the Indian markets, and the breakdown of the Exchange with Japan. Consequently, remittances from these markets where our Client has large holdings are very small.
Mr. Reif is prepared to give any undertaking which may be required of him to carry on the business according to the Laws and Royal Proclamations issued since the outbreak of the War. Application has been made to the Secretary of State for the Home Department for a Licence to trade in England, and our Client has every reason to expect his application will be granted at an early date. We understand that local enquiries have been made on behalf of the Home Office respecting our Client, and we are confident that the answers will have been satisfactory.
Should you require further information, we shall be pleased to supply you on hearing from you.
